Julia, I am very sorry this has happened to you. I think most of us understand what you are going through. It is a very cruel religion and this does amount to bullying. This was one of the things I had the hardest time with and I resigned myself to the fact that I would lose most if not all of my "friends". I have a therapist and my family (none of my family are JW's) that helped me realize that these "friendships" were conditional and they were right. The other day I deleted all JW's from my FB with the exception of three people which I will probably delete them too. I have decided I don't need the stress any longer and I am tired of hiding the things I want to do like celebrating the holidays. I also felt relieved after I did it. I think as you continue to heal you will see that the friendship wasn't what you thought it was. Hang in there it is a roller coaster of emotions.

Julia gets hit with the Shun Gun for the first time...and it really hurts.
by Julia Orwell inmy jw friend of 20 years, the first one i ever met, the one who got me into jwism in the first place, unfriended me from facebook without explanation.
other jws who have unfriended me at least called me names (apostate) and told me they were unfriending me, but they were no loss.
but someone who's been your friend since you were 13...and no explanation...i'd think 20 years- 20 years!

Happy Birthday Blondie! I am almost 58 but yesterday I was thinking about this while out doing errands and I feel like I am 30 with some aches and pains. I remember when I turned 50 it really bothered me for the first time that I was getting older. I try to be positive and live life to the fullest. I have been eating as much organic as possible and started a garden for the second time in my life, the first time was 30 years ago in a very hot climate and it didn't do too well.

The Elders want to meet with me ... (Judicial Meeting)
by Oubliette inthe elders want to meet with me.
at least that's what they keep telling me, and they've been saying it for more than a month and a half now.
just so you're clear: this is a judicial committee.

From what I saw before we left they do not reinstate very quickly now. A teen got into throuble and was very sorry for what she did and they DF's her anyway. She never missed one meeting and had every lesson studied and took notes. It took a year to reinstate her and she didn't even go all the way with the brother. Of course he was reinstated before her!! Another brother was DF's when he was a teen for drinking and he was out for over 20 years and he went to every meeting for a year and they would not reinstate him and he got discouraged and quit going. I think the days are over where you can get DF's and be back in within a few months. Unless it is some rule the elders use in this area. I hope you can get yours done soon so you can move on with your life and do what you can to help your children. If I understood your introduction post it sounded like you let them know you had doubts about the org which they will be skeptical about you and that may push it back further. They may view you as an apostate or trouble maker. They are definitely stalling you and playing games. For some reason they don't have the guts to tell you how they really feel. By the way, you should do some writing because you have a talent for it. Best wishes to you and your family.

My husband was a born in and when I showed him this video he said he grew up being so afraid of it. It haunted him for years and he feels it had such a negative effect on him. This guy is disgusting and it is just such a shame that millions of people look up to him.

They lied to you Jack......
by Tech49 inmy name is jack harper, tech49.

Welcome Jack! i look forward to hearing more stories. Your story could be my husbands because he was an elder and born in and was on the RBC and many other things. He stepped down and for years the elders have tried to get him to become and elder again but he couldn't put up with all of the nutty stuff. We are out together because I started to research and read information then gave it to him and he came out right with me. I hope your wife is coming out ith you. Hang in there, it does get better.

Can you help me encourage Reopened mind.
by TotallyADD inas most of you know we got a very angry letter from our oldest son.
it hurt her very much.
i feel so bad for her because he attacked her for what i feel was very unfair.

Reopened Mind, I know it is very difficult going through this. Hang in there because it will get better. I went through a very similar thing with my son and daughter in law only mine was reverse. It was because we were JW's that they turned on us. I remember crying on and off for a few years over it but I never gave up and believe it or not things got so much better. Continue to take the high road and continue to let your son know how much you love him. Things have a way of working out and I believe that a Mothers love is very powerful. My heart is sad for you because I do know what it feels like to be rejected by a child. Someday he will come to his senses and see what he has done to you. Be there for him when he wakes up because he will need your love and support.
